We're almost done!!

Hi all,

It's been a while and we would like to thank everyone for your patience. We're very happy to give an update on our phone mount progress.

Phone Mount Base - A couple of weeks ago we approved our first tooled base parts and also tweaked in the magnet press fits and production process. Below is a picture of a couple of first tooled bases with NEO magnets installed. The bases are being molded out of the same 40% Carbon Filled Nylon as our Form Mount Cradles.

Base Logo - We thought it would be cool to add our logo to the base. Here is the logo core pinned into our base mold cavity. We should receive samples for approval early next week.  Pictures to be posted soon.

Phone Case Side Stamped Part - The stamped part geometry has been tested and approved.We are currently sampling powder coating of this part. We should have parts back from powder coating very soon. I will post some pictures as soon as we receive and approve these parts.

Tethers and tether anchors -  We will be including tethers that screw anchor to the case side plate. Protos have been tested and approved. We are waiting on first tooled anchor parts for production approval. I will post pictures as soon as we get our first batch of production parts.

Again, thank you to everyone for being so patient while we have been getting all these parts to look and function just right. I will be posting another update shortly.

First off we would like to thank everyone again for the support on bringing Form Mount to production.

Real quick update on Phone Mount

Phone Mount Base -  Tooling is done with first tooled samples going through the approval process. We are going to be using the same 40% Carbon filled Nylon that we use for our arms and cradle bottoms for the phone mount base. So, material selection, cosmetics and overall sizes are approved. We are currently dialing in the press fit for the magnets.

Stamped Case Side Adhesive - We have an adhesive selected that we feel works great on a variety of phone case materials. Currently working with vendor to finalize for production.

Stamped Case Side Plate - We are working with our stamping vendor on finalizing the stamping design to include a tether anchor detail.

Tether - We will be including a tether with the phone mount assembly. Similar to the one that Garmin ships with their 1000 computer. This will be an optional use feature to be determined by the user whether its necessary for their particular riding conditions. We have been testing the mount in simulated gravel racing conditions as well as light off road and harsh on road conditions. We are impressed with the holding capabilities of the of the Neo N52 Magnets and the case side plate. That being said, we are including the option as an extra measure of protection for any unforeseen circumstances that may arise on a ride.

F3 Cycling is excited to announce that we have licensed FormMount to Lezyne allowing them to manufacture a co-branded version of the mount to fit their GPS computers.  Stay tuned for details!

As a follow up to Update #41, I wanted to reach out a again with a reminder to submit your photos.

We’d love to show off your FormMount on your bike in a GALLERY section I’ll be adding to our site (f3cycling.com). You are the reason for our success and we want to show our gratitude. Be creative. Have fun. Oh, and make sure everyone can clearly see how you’re using it. Versatility is a hallmark of FormMount so we want you to give ideas to each other.

Just wanted to let everyone know that all inserts have been shipped. And confirming with our international backers, there will be no customs charges.

Please dispose of the original inserts as we don't want any suspect ones floating around out there.
